South Florida CARES is a proud affiliate of The National CARES Mentoring Movement founded in 2006, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, as Essence CARES. The South Florida Cares team is proud to support the mission to secure, heal and transform the lives of impoverished children by inspiring, recruiting and mobilizing masses of caring men and women to mentor and nourish them.

WORK
The Rising Program at South Florida CARES Mentoring Movement is a non-profit organization focused on supporting our children with mental health / wellness through our evidence-based curriculum. Our Curriculum is culturally based with self exploration, life skills and career readiness tools.
The Rising Program participants range from ages 5-24 and are serviced in Miami-Dade and Broward County schools, Alternative Schools, Teen Parent & Foster Youth Programs and Department of Juvenile Justice Programs.
We aim to provide mentors that will impact the lives of our children to elevate their hope for our future.
